Arrested for OVI in Beavercreek?Beavercreek - We have received confirmation from the Ohio State Highway Patrol that the OVI sobriety checkpoint in Beavercreek, Greene County will take place tonight.  Previously, we have reported that this checkpoint will be located in front of The Greene on Indian Ripple Road. The Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery County will be holding an OVI sobriety checkpoint in the Township of Clay, Montgomery County on August 20, 2010.  The Clay Township Police Department will be the Command and Control Agency for the checkpoint and operational support will be provided by the Miami Township Police Department, Five Rivers Metro Park Rangers, German Township Police Department, Ohio Department of Transportation, Box 21 and other law enforcement officers from the Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery County.  The exact location of the checkpoint will not be released until tomorrow. The Combined Agency OVI Taskforce of Montgomery County will operate an sobriety checkpoint in Clayton on Friday night.  Other OVI checkpoints scheduled for Friday night will be in Defiance, Logan, Mahoning, Scioto and Lorain counties. The exact locations will be announced Friday morning, as well as the counties involved in the Saturday night checkpoints.  It has not been announced whether Butler and Warren counties will be included.  The checkpoints are part of the “Ohio OVI Checkpoint weekend” designed to deter and intercept impaired drivers. Major OVI Checkpoint Initiative Across Ohio August 20-Sept 6

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced today that troopers across the state will operate OVI checkpoints along side local law enforcement to deter and intercept impaired drivers this week as part of a mobilization effort for the “Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest" campaign.  The campaign will last from August 20th through September 6th. As a kick-off to the DUI initiative, the Combined Agency OVI Taskforce for Montgomery County held a press conference today at Sinclair University.  The OVI Taskforce has set aside 690 hours of overtime to conduct sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols concentrating on arresting impaired drivers.The...
