The Montgomery County Sheriff and the Montgomery County OVI Task Force will be conducting a St. Patrick's Day sobriety checkpoint on Tuesday from 7 to 11 p.m. in Washington Twp.  Dayton will be alive today as we simultaneously celebrate the First Four with our very own Dayton Flyers participating.  It is also St. Patrick's Day and Dayton loves to celebrate. What is your favorite type of alcohol? According to the Ohio Department of Commerce, Ohioans are buying more and better alcohol than ever before. Sales reached a record level in 2014 totaling $949 million. This represents an increase of 5.6 percent and exceeded last year’s total by $50 million, according to date released by the Ohio Department of Commerce.  Premium and Super-Premium products dominate the top of the charts and account for almost 60 percent of the total dollar sales.Here, (from WHIO) is the top 10 list of Ohio alcohol choices: 1. Holiday DUI Blitz Begins December 6th

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced its annual "Holiday DUI Blitz."  The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.The holiday dui  initiative will take place from Friday, December 5 at 12:01 a.m. through Sunday, December 7 at 11:59 p.m. This high-visibility enforcement effort will include the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Pennsylvania State Police and the West Virginia State Police.
