Dead Drunk from Brew Dog

[caption id="" align="alignright" width="180" caption="Image via Wikipedia"][/caption]BrewDog, a microbrewery out of Scotland created the world's strongest beer at 55% alcohol. And while that was sure to raise a few eyebrows, the company decided to go a step further and place the limited edition of 12 bottles inside the taxidermied bodies of squirrels, stoats and a hare.  The bottles—which cost more than $700 each—sold out in less than four (4) hours, although the controversy they are raising is sure to last as long as the preserved bodies of the beer-cozies. Dayton OVI Sobriety Checkpoint Update: July 17, 2010

I have checked with all of our regular sources and there appears to be no sobriety checkpoints scheduled tonight in the Miami Valley.  There will be two checkpoints tonight in Cincinnati.  The first will be from 9-11 pm, on North Bend Road.  The second OVI checkpoint will be from midnight until 2 am on Colerain near Blue Spruce.  The Clermont County checkpoint will be on Rt. 52 near mile marker 7 (in Neville) from 4-8pm.  The underlying theory of OVI checkpoints is not to arrest drunk drivers but to instill fear of arrest in the law-abiding public.  By advertising these...

Happy 4th of July from Dayton DUI

Charles Rowland and the lawyers and staff of Brown, Rowland, Babb & Campbell wish you a happy and safe 4th of July! He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from opposition; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach himself. ~Thomas PaineYou have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy,...

Dayton OVI Checkpoint Tonight! (July 3rd on Rt. 48)

ABC/FOX 22 and WHIO News are reporting that the Montgomery County Sheriff, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Montgomery County OVI Task Force will be back at the Harrison Township/Rt. 48 location again tonight.  The low-man power OVI checkpoint will be accompanied by active saturation patrols.  The city of Dayton is stepping up its enforcement of motorists this long weekend. We spoke to dispatchers who say they're utilizing some grant money that's allowing them to run extra patrols throughout the busy travel period until Monday.  As for Montgomery County? They're not done yet, either-- several saturation patrols will be out for...

Sobriety Checkpoint in Montgomery County Results in 1 OVI arrest

Did you hear about last night's (July 2nd) sobriety checkpoint in Montgomery County (Harrison Township on St. Rt. 48).  Was it publicized in the Dayton Daily News or on WHIO news as required by law?
