DUI Charges In The Madison County Municipal Court

If you are arrested for DUI anywhere in Madison County, your misdemeanor DUI case will be heard in the Madison County Municipal Court.  The Madison County Municipal Court is located at 1 North Main St. in downtown London, OH in the historical Madison County Courthouse [MAP].  Court mail should be sent to P.O. Where Are the Speed Cameras/Red-Light Cameras in Dayton?

This blog has documented the outrage caused by Dayton's adoption of speed and red-light cameras.  Today, in an article by former Montgomery County Common Pleas A.J. Wagner, the Dayton City Paper takes on the red-light and speed cameras.  As we have put forth here, the red-light and speed cameras are an affront to our presumption of innocence and a bald attempt at letting private companies make money by exploiting citizens.  The problems lie in the process.  "Once caught, a letter is mailed to the vehicle owner.  Violators are given 15 days to appeal, but never see a judge or a courtroom. Butler County OVI Checkpoint: 4/6/12

An OVI checkpoint will be held between 6 p.m. and midnight tonight on Tylersville Road in West Chester Township, Butler County, law enforcement officials announced today. Troopers will also be conducting saturation patrols throughout the area.  The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.  The Butler County OVI Task Force and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are manning the operation. Yellow Springs Mayor’s Court

Twice a month David Foubert, Mayor of Yellow Springs, holds court. Clark County Prosecutor Sets Up Diversion Program

Last week the Clark County Prosecutor's Office sent out a letter detailing a new diversion program.  The announced "goal of the program is to promote the efficiency within the Clark County Common Pleas Court while allowing lower level felony offenders an opportunity to avoid the handicap of a life altering felony conviction."  The new diversion program is modeled on established programs in Franklin and Montgomery Counties.  The letter indicates that approximately 50 people a year will be permitted to take advantage of the diversion program.  The program coordinator is Sandee Selner and the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Greg Morris has been...

Extra Patrols In Montgomery County Throughout New Year Holiday

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has announced that it is doubling its forces on Saturday to combat drunk drivers during the New Year's Eve holiday.  According to WDTN,  [see here] Troopers will be focusing on areas like Harrison Township, Butler Township and the Dayton Mall area.  Not coincidently, these areas are the areas frequently targeted for checkpoint enforcement.  No announcements of OVI checkpoints have been made.  Other announcements from the Ohio State Highway Patrol have indicated that 80 Ohio jurisdictions are participating in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign and will have extra patrols throughout the New Year...

DUI Patrols Increased For Thanksgiving in Clark and Montgomery Counties

OVI Checkpoints In Clark and Montgomery County Slated for the Wednesday Before Thanksgiving A grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will allow law enforcement agencies in Clark, Butler and Montgomery Counties to increase DUI/OVI patrols over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  The Springfield Police Division and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office will use 48 overtime hours through Sunday targeting drivers under the influence.  The Butler County Sheriff’s Office will increase patrols by up to 150 overtime hours during the same time frame.  Carlene Maynes, coordinator of the Montgomery County OVI Task Force, said 18 agencies, including the Dayton Police Department,...
