Ohio Medical Marijuana Law: The 20 Qualifying Conditions

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE OHIO MEDICAL MARIJUANA LAW In June, Gov. John Kasich signed the Ohio Medical Marijuana Law, making Ohio the twenty-fifth state to legalize a comprehensive medical cannabis program. HB 523 provides that certain specific diseases, syndromes, disorders and ailments qualify for the program.  I have been inundated with questions about what will qualify under the law.  Here is the complete list (subject to change by regulators) that Ohio has chosen.Acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS/HIV) Alzheimer’s disease Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) Cancer Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE, the degenerative disease most commonly found in football players and other athletes in contact sports) Crohn’s...

Reviewed & Experienced DUI Attorney

Defense of an Ohio DUI or alcohol-related charge can be challenging. The main witnesses against you are the police. There is scientific evidence from the breath test, blood test or urine test that is presented against you.  Ohio has set strict limits on the ways the chemical tests can be attacked.  Your attorney will need to be familiar with the defenses and be skilled enough to present those to a judge or jury.  Often, a video tape of the arrest will be bolstered by the police officer's testimony.  Your performance on the standardized field sobriety tests may be damaging to...

Changes At The Kettering Municipal Court

The Kettering Municipal Court has undergone some major changes in recent years.  The retirement of Judge Thomas Hanna and the passing of Judge Robert Moore created two new positions that have been admirably filled by Judge James Long and Judge Frederick Dressel.  Judge Long was the long-time prosecutor in that court and Judge Dressel served for many years as the Kettering Municipal Court Magistrate.  This gives them a depth of experience and a knowledge of the Court's history and culture. For more information about the Kettering Municipal Court, visit there web site [here]. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m....

Ohio House Passes Medical Marijuana Bill

For years, I have dedicated myself to ending the mistaken "War on Drugs" and treating addiction like a medical condition and not a crime. Today was a day I thought I would never see. The Ohio House of Representative passed a medical marijuana bill with support from both parties. This will give Ohio families much needed access to a medicine that has proven effective in other states. Can I get charged with OVI while driving under the influence of marijuana? Watch the video. ...
