The Fairborn Municipal Court, located at at 1148 Kauffman Ave., Fairborn, Ohio 45324, maintains a copy of its fee schedule on its web site. The Fairborn Municipal Court serves Fairborn, Bath Township, Beavercreek and Beavercreek Township. The court conducts preliminary hearings in felony cases, handles traffic and non-traffic misdemeanors, and civil cases where the money in dispute does not exceed $15,000. Clark County Prosecutor Sets Up Diversion Program

Last week the Clark County Prosecutor's Office sent out a letter detailing a new diversion program.  The announced "goal of the program is to promote the efficiency within the Clark County Common Pleas Court while allowing lower level felony offenders an opportunity to avoid the handicap of a life altering felony conviction."  The new diversion program is modeled on established programs in Franklin and Montgomery Counties.  The letter indicates that approximately 50 people a year will be permitted to take advantage of the diversion program.  The program coordinator is Sandee Selner and the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Greg Morris has been...

Vandalia Municipal Court Experiencing Web Site Problems

The Dayton Daily News is reporting that the Vandalia Municipal Court web site has been hit with a software problem causing it not to function properly.  This means that not only is service disrupted, but people cannot make a payment via the automated on-line service provided by the Court.  These areas of the web site have been down since at least Tuesday morning.  If you are a current or past client of Charles M. New Year’s Eve By The Numbers

According to this storyin the Dayton Daily News, New Year's Eve was safe. "There were relatively few OVI arrests, and the Dayton Daily News had received no reports of traffic fatalities directly attributed to drunken driving Saturday night as of Sunday afternoon."  The most active State Highway Patrol Post was Montgomery County which made seven OVI arrests over the weekend.  Miami County OSP made three arrests, Warren County OSP made one and Greene County made no OVI arrests over the New Year's Eve weekend. Extra Patrols In Montgomery County Throughout New Year Holiday

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has announced that it is doubling its forces on Saturday to combat drunk drivers during the New Year's Eve holiday.  According to WDTN,  [see here] Troopers will be focusing on areas like Harrison Township, Butler Township and the Dayton Mall area.  Not coincidently, these areas are the areas frequently targeted for checkpoint enforcement.  No announcements of OVI checkpoints have been made.  Other announcements from the Ohio State Highway Patrol have indicated that 80 Ohio jurisdictions are participating in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign and will have extra patrols throughout the New Year...

Kettering DUI Sting Set For Tonight (Dec. 30th)

Tonight from 8pm until 3am, the Kettering Police Department will be conducting an enhanced enforcement event.  The "sting" will target DUI offenders and will be similar to the previous efforts.  As reported in the Dayton Daily News,"the Task Force chose tonight rather than Saturday night for enforcement because, in recent years, there have been fewer drivers on New Year’s Eve."  Expect extra patrols and saturation patrols looking for signs of impaired driving.DUI attorney Charles M. Kettering Bans Texting While Driving

As reported by WDTN, the city of Kettering has banned texting while driving.  The city council passed an ordinance Tuesday making it illegal to write, read or send a text message while driving.  According to the ordinance you would still be able to talk on your phone and use you GPS system.  The ban will take effect in January and cases will be heard in the Kettering Municipal Court. Springfield OVI Checkpoint Tonight (Dec. 16, 2011)

There will be an OVI sobriety checkpoint tonight in Clark County, Springfiield, Ohio beginning at 8:30 pm on the 1200 block of West First Street.
