St. Patrick’s Day OVI Checkpoints in Clark, Greene, Montgomery & Shelby Counties

This is going to be an active weekend for law enforcement with every jurisdiction reporting increased patrols.  There will also be OVI checkpoints in Greene, Clark, Shelby and two in Montgomery County.  Details of the locations and times will be updated at this blog posting as we get them [so check back often].  Here’s what we know so far:

Clark County (Springfield):  There will be an OVI checkpoint operated tonight from 6pm until 10pm at St. Rt. 40 and St. Rt. 68 in Springfield.  The checkpoint is in conjunction with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Clark County Combined DUI Task force.  In addition to the checkpoint, Springfield Police, Clark County Sheriff and other law enforcement agencies have announced increased patrols throughout the weekend.

Greene County: There will be an OVI checkpoint tonight in Greene County on Wilmington Pike near 675.  The checkpoint will operate from 10pm until approximately 2am.  Thanks to the Greene County Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol for helping us secure this information.  The area covered by this checkpoint is at the Montgomery County/Greene County line and will include nearby saturation patrols.

Montgomery County:  There will be a checkpoint beginning at 6pm on Lyons Road in Washington Township, Montgomery County.  No ending time was given for this checkpoint.  Our source for this information was WDTN.  The Montgomery County OVI Task Force will log nearly 300 overtime hours in looking for impaired drivers this weekend alone.  We will give you details of the checkpoints as they are released.

Shelby County: There will be an OVI checkpoint tonight (Saturday March 17th) along St. Rt. 47 in Piqua, Shelby County beginning at approximately 10pm and running until approximately 2am.  Please visit www.SidneyDUI.com to learn more about DUI’s in Shelby County or contact me at (937) 776-2671 for help with a DUI in Shelby County.

Warren County:  Extra deputies are out on patrol in Warren County. The department is paying deputies for the extra work with a state grant. They’ll be out looking for impaired drivers until Sunday night, Dayton’s New Source reports.  Please visit www.SpringboroDUI.com or www.LebanonDUI.com  or call (937) 776-2671 for 24/7 assistance.  If you want to know more about the Warren County Courts please check out Warren County Courts (an overview).
