OVI Checkpoints in Springdale, Hamilton and Cincinnati Tonight.

There are three OVI checkpoints planned for Ohioans in the City of Hamilton, Cincinnati and Springdale.Springdale: A checkpoint will be held in the 11700 block of Springfield Pike. Operations will begin at 11:30 p.m. Friday and end at 3 a.m. Saturday morning. Cincinnati: A checkpoint will be held in the 2000 block of Harrison Avenue. The checkpoint will begin at 9 p.m. Friday and end at 1 a.m. Saturday. OVI Task Force Blitz Along US 27 This Weekend

As reported HERE in the Journal-Post, the Butler County and the Hamilton County OVI Task Force with the assistance of the Ohio State Highway Patrol will conduct an OVI Blitz along each county stretch of U.S. 27 on Friday and Saturday.  Police agencies not situated near U.S. 27 will also have additional officers in their jurisdictions looking for impaired drivers. Ohio DUI Law: Another Jurisdiction Dumps the Intoxilyzer 8000

Add Cincinnati to the Jurisdictions Not Relying on the Intoxilyzer 8000 It appears that the ruling from the 12th District Court of Appeals upholding the use of the Intoxilyzer 8000, despite clear language in the Ohio Administrative Code requiring a dry gas control prior to each subject test, has not saved the Intoxilyzer 8000 in nearby Hamilton County.  In May, Municipal Court Judge Melissa Powers agreed and ruled the machine must be cleared after each breath test.
