Holiday DUI Blitz Begins December 6th

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced its annual "Holiday DUI Blitz."  The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.The holiday dui  initiative will take place from Friday, December 5 at 12:01 a.m. through Sunday, December 7 at 11:59 p.m. This high-visibility enforcement effort will include the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Pennsylvania State Police and the West Virginia State Police. Get A Free Ride With Operation Ride Safe

Christmas DUI Blitz Along Rt. 4 Announced

The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be conducting a Christmas DUI enforcement action along Rt. 4 beginning this weekend.The OVI Task Forces of Clark County, Hamilton County, Butler County, Montgomery County, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol will conduct an Christmas DUI enforcement blitz along State Route 4 this Friday and Saturday.  In addition, the Ohio Investigative Unit will have agents working in the same area during the Christmas DUI blitz.  Other Task Force member departments that are not situated along SR-4 will also have extra officers working in their areas and searching for impaired drivers. Ohio State Highway Patrol Announces Christmas Enforcement Initiative

On Friday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol issued a press release announcing their annual Christmas enforcement initiative.  This year they have stuck with the familiar "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" theme.  I expect that the effort will be accompanied by a full media blitz including radio and television commercials. OSP Announces Increased Holiday Patrols

Today, the Ohio State Highway Patrol released two press releases announcing they will be out in force this holiday season.  You may have noticed the ubiquitous "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" commercials and increased law enforcement presence along our roadways. Through December 11, troopers have arrested 1,383 more drivers for OVI than during the same period in 2010.   Last year fatalities increased to 1,080 over a record low of 1,022 in 2009.  With the upcoming holidays, the Patrol is reminding drivers that this can be one of the most dangerous times of the year due to an increase in impaired...
