Clark County Prosecutor Sets Up Diversion Program

Last week the Clark County Prosecutor's Office sent out a letter detailing a new diversion program.  The announced "goal of the program is to promote the efficiency within the Clark County Common Pleas Court while allowing lower level felony offenders an opportunity to avoid the handicap of a life altering felony conviction."  The new diversion program is modeled on established programs in Franklin and Montgomery Counties.  The letter indicates that approximately 50 people a year will be permitted to take advantage of the diversion program.  The program coordinator is Sandee Selner and the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Greg Morris has been...

Chillicothe Will Have Anti-Speed Camera Referendum

Image via WikipediaChillicothe, Ohio residents will retain the right to vote out speed cameras on November 3 thanks to a Ohio Supreme Court ruling yesterday. Fearing the public would shut down his signature program, Chillicothe Mayor Joseph Sulzer had asked the high court for an emergency injunction blocking the citizen-led initiative. Sulzer argued that this step was needed because the proposed initiative was unconstitutional and the city was denied a fair chance to argue against it before the Ross County Board of Elections (view Sulzer's court filing). Xenia Ohio’s Greene County Courthouse

Greene County Courthouse The Greene County Courthouse was designed by architect Samuel Hannaford and built in 1902. Located at 45 North Detroit St. in the county seat of Xenia, the building is still in use and today houses the Greene County Court of Common Pleas and its probate court.The courthouse features Richardsonian Romanesque style architecture and is made of solid Bedford stone. Above the main courtroom is a large, 18-foot-by-10-foot stained glass window titled “Justice is Blind.” The structure survived a tornado in 1974 with very little damage; however, the town of Xenia was heavily damaged and 34 people were killed.Greene...
