Kettering DUI Crackdown Tonight (Nov. 23rd)

Clark County OVI Checkpoint (Nov. 23rd)

UPDATE:  OVI Checkpoint In Springfield Today An OVI checkpoint will be manned by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and other law enforcement officers on Wednesday from 8:30 p.m. until 12 midnight in downtown Springfield along U.S. 40 in front of the new hospital building.  Assisting in the checkpoint will be the Springfield Police Division, Clark County Sheriff Deputies, the Enon Police and medical personnel.  We had previously reported that a second checkpoint was operating in the afternoon in Springfield, but this report was wrong. Middletown OVI Checkpoint Tonight (Nov. 23rd)

The Middletown Police Department, in conjunction with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Butler County DUI Task Force will be conducting an OVI checkpoint tonight from 11pm until 3 am along Rt. 4.  The DUI checkpoint will be augmented with saturation patrols in the surrounding areas targeting potentially impaired drivers. MADD Calls For No Refusal Weekends and Interlock Devices

Kicking off their annual holiday crackdown on drunk driving, local law enforcement and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) held an event which was highlighted by MADD's release of its Report to the Nation.  MADD gave Ohio three out of five stars for its efforts in DUI enforcement.  Ohio’s three stars recognized statewide use of sobriety checkpoints, automatic driver’s license revocation, and enhanced penalties for child endangering while driving under the influence.The two measures MADD said Ohio should implement statewide are ignition interlock systems — Breathalyzers that are connected to a vehicle’s ignition — for all first-time offenders and no-refusal checkpoints...

Americans With DUI Convictions Being Turned Away By Canadian Border Guards

Vancouver Sun Reports That Restrictions on DUI Convictions May Be Loosened The Canadian government has, for the past few years, conducted an unprecedented crackdown on Americans who have been convicted of drunk driving.  By law, U.S. citizens with DUI convictions can enter Canada only if certain conditions are met. They can enter if they have had 10 crime-free years since their conviction. Blood, Breath & Urine Testing In Ohio: The Three Hour Rule
