Springfield OVI & The Clark County OVI Task Force

Click It Or Ticket Set To Begin

Just as the swallows return every year to the Mission San Juan Capistrano, California, so to does the return spring bring us "Click -it or Ticket."  Click It or Ticket is a nationwide seat belt enforcement campaign aimed at reducing the number of highway fatalities and injuries due to non-seat-belt use. St. Patrick’s Day OVI Checkpoints in Clark, Greene, Montgomery & Shelby Counties

St. Patrick’s Day Drunk Driving Initiative Announced

The Miami Valley is teaming up to make Dayton's St. Patrick's Day celebration a safe one.   ENFORCEMENT: The Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery County has allocated over 280 OVI patrol hours for the upcoming St. Patrick's Day weekend.  In addition, the OVI Task Force will conduct two OVI checkpoints throughout the weekend.  "Driving is simply not worth the risk," warns Task Force spokesman John DiPietro.PREVENTION: This effort will be combined with the return of "Operation Arrive Safe,"  an innovative and successful program administered by Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck, AAA Miami Valley, Sandy's Towing and Heidelberg Distributors.  You...

New Year’s Eve By The Numbers

According to this storyin the Dayton Daily News, New Year's Eve was safe. "There were relatively few OVI arrests, and the Dayton Daily News had received no reports of traffic fatalities directly attributed to drunken driving Saturday night as of Sunday afternoon."  The most active State Highway Patrol Post was Montgomery County which made seven OVI arrests over the weekend.  Miami County OSP made three arrests, Warren County OSP made one and Greene County made no OVI arrests over the New Year's Eve weekend.
