Dayton OVI Checkpoint Tonight! (July 3rd on Rt. 48)

ABC/FOX 22 and WHIO News are reporting that the Montgomery County Sheriff, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Montgomery County OVI Task Force will be back at the Harrison Township/Rt. 48 location again tonight. The low-man power OVI checkpoint will be accompanied by active saturation patrols. The city of Dayton is stepping up its enforcement of motorists this long weekend. We spoke to dispatchers who say they’re utilizing some grant money that’s allowing them to run extra patrols throughout the busy travel period until Monday. As for Montgomery County? They’re not done yet, either– several saturation patrols will be out for the remainder of the 4th of July weekend working extra hours as well.
