The Lead Counsel Program
LawInfo’s Lead Counsel Program offers consumers and businesses a reliable and convenient way to find pre-qualified legal representation quickly and easily. Thousands of LawInfo Web site visitors have contacted and retained the services of Lead Counsel Rated attorneys* to help with their legal matters.
One LawInfo visitor put it this way:
“Through the use of your site …….. I was able to evaluate [the Lead Counsel attorney’s] background and experience as it related to my particular issue. I was very impressed with his credentials/experience as a seasoned business attorney. I scheduled an appointment and he met me that day!
When I met with the “web” attorney, there was no question….he was more impressive in person than his online credentials. I signed a retainer agreement and he immediately began working on my case.” ~ Cindy Lux ~
The Lead Counsel Difference
Experience and reputation are two of the most important factors to consider when evaluating an attorney. That’s why the focus of LawInfo’s Lead Counsel certification process includes the following minimum qualifications:
- Ample Experience. All Lead Counsel rated attorneys must meet and/or exceed stringent practice area qualifications and must demonstrate that a significant portion of their practice is dedicated to the area of law the attorney is Lead Counsel rated in.
- Good Standing. LawInfo verifies that every Lead Counsel rated attorney is in good standing with their state bar association. You can feel confident knowing that the Lead Counsel attorney you choose has a clean record, and that they’ve never had any disciplinary actions taken against them.
- Well Respected. Lead Counsel rated attorneys are well-respected in their community and among their peers, and all have been recommended for inclusion into the program by multiple attorneys in their practice area. LawInfo obtains a minimum of three peer references to verify the Lead Counsel attorney candidate’s reputation.
Many Lead Counsel member attorneys also hold official positions in renowned legal organizations, occupy positions on established professional boards, have won awards and been recognized by their Bar Associations. Many also play important roles in their communities.
In addition Lead Counsel members pledge to maintain the following minimum service standards:
- Treat my clients with respect and courtesy.
- Promptly return my clients’ telephone calls and e-mails.
- Discuss my clients’ objectives and strategies for representation.
- Thoroughly explain to my clients their rights and legal obligations.
- Represent my clients competently and diligently.
- Keep my clients informed and provide clients with copies of all pleadings, correspondence, and case-related materials-if so requested.
- Treat my clients’ information with the utmost confidentiality. Handle client matters with the highest degree of ethical conduct and always comply with the Rules of Professional Conduct.
- Charge a reasonable fee and explain in advance how the fee will be computed and billed.
- Remain in good standing with any bar association in any jurisdiction in which I am admitted to practice in.
- Stay current in my field of expertise by taking all relevant continuing education courses as required by my state bar association.
